It was ruled that when treating a child for gender dysphoria, medical professionals would need court approval before puberty blockers could be prescribed.

Due to the court’s decision, the NHS immediately paused all referrals for the use of puberty blockers to ease physical discomfort from gender dysphoria.

Until the year 2000, the promotion of homosexuality in Scottish schools was banned, which meant that teachers could not even acknowledge the lives of LGBT+ people, and students bullied for being gay were rarely helped.

Now, Scotland has become the first country in the world to make LGBT+ education in schools mandatory.

The LGBT+ community and allies celebrate LGBT+ Pride throughout June, and events often extend through the whole summer. Pride today is seen as a massive celebration of awareness, festivities, and even major companies now include Pride in marketing campaigns.
